Iowa man to be arraigned in mother’s killing
KEOKUK, Iowa (AP) — A Keokuk man will be arraigned next week in the killing of his mother.
The Daily Gate City reports 23-year-old Adam Pitman is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 46-year-old Rosa Pitman. A hearing is set for Oct. 10.
Pitman was arrested during an Aug. 30 traffic stop in Fort Madison. During the stop, police say, Pitman told the officer he had killed his mother and that they should go to the home he shared with her in Keokuk.
Court records show that police found the body of Rosa Pitman inside the home with an electrical cord around her throat.
Adam Pitman is being held in the Lee County jail on $2 million.
