Interstate 90 welcome center to open soon
Center to welcome visitors to Wisconsin
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Interstate 90’s newest Welcome Center will soon be open to visitors in Wisconsin.
The new rest area along Wisconsin’s mile marker one replaces the former 40-year-old building. The building is twice as large as the former building and offers picnic areas, play areas, and more restrooms.
The Project Manager says the updated location offers visitors a better view of what Wisconsin has to offer.
“It’s along the Mississippi River, so the theme is a river runs through it, and it is along the Mississippi, it’s a really neat location, a good opportunity to welcome visitors to the state,” said Wisconsin DOT Project Manager Craig Fisher.
The new welcome center will be open in the next few days, depending on weather.
