Increased flu cases could be coming as traditional season approaches
Cases often increase in December, with cases continuing until March.
WISCONSIN (WKBT) – An increase of flu cases could be coming soon.
The cases often pick up in December with high levels of activity through March.
With more people coming together face-to-face, doctors with Mayo Clinic Health System say it is likely there will be more cases this year than in years past.
Even if you got vaccinated for COVID-19, you still need a flu vaccine to be protected against that virus.
“The reason why they don’t protect each other is they are very different viruses. And they cause the infection in the human with very different ways,” said Dr. Abinash Virk.
Flu vaccine clinics will start in the La Crosse about a month from now.
