Inclusive Park construction coming to Houston
HOUSTON, Minn. (WKBT) — A new park that will allow all children to play is coming to an area community.
Houston, Minnesota’s ‘Mission 66’ project will provide inclusive equipment for children of all abilities.
Among the park’s planned features is a wheelchair accessible swing.
Planning for the project has been underway since 2016.
When completed, the park will benefit more than just one town.
“We have five townships around us and it’s for them too, it isn’t just our few people here, but it’s for everybody who never had the opportunity,” said Misson 66 committee member Audrey Hegland.
Volunteers are needed during the first week of May to help build the new playground.
