Iconic tree in Whitehall cut down
WHITEHALL, Wis. (WKBT) — An iconic tree in the Whitehall community was torn down.
Crews removed a 103-year-old Spruce tree in Whitehall Friday morning.
State railroad officials said the tree had to be removed, because it was blocking the view of trains coming down the tracks.
Wisconsin’s railroad commissioner said they weighed the impact the loss of the tree would have on the community, but needed to act in the best interests of safety.
