Law enforcement searching Johnson Creek landfill as Halderson investigation continues
Authorities with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that law enforcement have been searching the landfill with help from K-9 teams with the Madison Police Department. The search has reportedly been going on for several days and continued Tuesday.
The Dane County Medical Examiner is still working to identify the human remains found in northwestern Dane County last week.
“I’m very proud of the hard working and dedicated staff at the Dane County Sheriff’s Office working day and night on this investigation,” Sheriff Kalvin Barrett said. “We are all committed to bringing answers and closure to the Halderson family.”
Crime scene investigators are also actively working to process the Halderson’s home in Windsor. Law enforcement said that process can be “slow and tedious.”
Last week, Chandler Halderson was charged in his father’s death. Bail was set at $1 million.
Anyone with information about the Halderson’s disappearance is asked to share it with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office via their tip line at 608-284-6900.
