Car crashes into building early Monday morning, causes evacuations

MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Fire Department says it had to evacuate a building early Monday morning after a car crashed into it.

The crash happened at about 4:21 a.m. Monday, when a single car crashed into the building at the corner of South Baldwin and Williamson Streets.

Madison police told News 3 Now the driver of the car lost control before hitting the building. Photos from the scene provided by the fire department show the airbags went off inside the car.

Nobody was injured, but the building had to be evacuated because of structural damage.
