Hwy. 16 to be widened between Onalaska & West Salem
Work on the stretch of road will begin next year
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — The Wisconsin DOT is planning to reconstruct Highway 16 between Onalaska and West Salem into a four-lane divided highway.
The hope is to enhance traffic safety with left turn lanes and a multi-use path.
The project would include carving out part of Nathan Hill. It’s the final piece of three separate projects to create a corridor running from La Crosse through West Salem.
Crews will start working on the remaining three-mile stretch of road next year.
