Hunger Task Force to host drive-through food distributions
USDA programs to provide produce, meat and dairy products
LA CROSSE, Wis. — The Hunger Task Force in La Crosse will host drive-through distributions of fresh produce, meat and dairy products through U.S. Department of Agriculture programs.
The distributions will take place at the Task Force’s warehouse at 1240 Clinton St. from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until food runs out) on Fridays through the end of June.
The USDA has offered $3 billion to buy fresh produce, meat and dairy products. The supplemental food items are from the Dairy Recovery Program and the Coronovirus Food Assistance Program.
The products will be boxed and distributed through partners of Hunger Relief Federation of Wisconsin, which includes the Task Force.
The Task Force provides free food to 118 food pantries, meal sites and youth programs, including 91 in La Crosse County.
