Hundreds rally for abortion rights in downtown La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Hundreds of people rallied for abortion rights in downtown La Crosse Thursday evening to speak out against the possibility of a Supreme Court decision that would reverse Roe v. Wade.

People, young and old, lined 4th Street outside the La Crosse County Courthouse, chanting and holding signs demanding lawmakers protect a women’s right to choose.

“It’s been about 50 years since Roe v. Wade and we thought it was settled law,” said Katie Nauth, a pro-choice protester. “It is an individual’s right to have autonomy over their body. Abortion is healthcare.”

The La Crosse County Democratic Party organized the rally.

Similar rallies and protests have taken place this week in cities nationwide.
