Hundreds of people report mysterious seed package deliveries

The mystery continues in Minnesota, other states

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Mysterious packages of seeds are still finding there way into our area. Last week, many Wisconsin and Minnesotan residents received seeds, apparently from China, that were never ordered.

To date, over 700 Minnesotans have made reports to the Department of Agriculture.

Federal officials are investigating the source of the seeds. The USDA is currently referring to the situation as a ‘brushing scam,’ where people receive unsolicited items from a seller who then post false customer reviews to boost sales.

If you receive one of these packages, do not open or plant the seeds. Instead, save the seeds, the packages, and the labels and contact your state’s Department of Agriculture.
