Hundreds celebrate National Hot Dog Day in La Crosse
Rudy's makes celebration a month-long event
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Thursday is National Hot Dog Day, and hundreds of people took advantage of the good weather to stop at Rudy’s Drive-In in La Crosse to celebrate.
The celebration isn’t limited to just one day at Rudy’s. Owner Gary Rudy says they sell between 700 and 800 hot dogs every day in July for their month-long “Dog Days of Summer” special.
“You have National Hot Dog Day in July, normally it gets hot in July, so it just kind of makes sense to do the Dog Days of Summer,” said Rudy.
The restaurant sells up to 1000 hot dogs a day on their busiest days in July.
