Hundreds celebrate Labor Fest in La Crosse
Rep. Kind among those celebrating workers on Labor Day
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Labor Day is more than just a day off for many people in the La Crosse area — it’s also a way to celebrate America’s workforce.
Hundreds of people lined the streets on La Crosse’s northside Monday morning for the annual Labor Day parade.
After the parade, the celebration moved to Copeland Park for the annual Labor Fest.
This year’s event featured free games for kids and bingo and raffles for adults. Kids also got a chance to search for hidden money in a sawdust pile.
Representative Ron Kind was also at the event. He says the holiday is a well-earned day off for many people and a chance to reflect on the sacrifices many workers make.
“This is a way to appreciate the hard work that working families put in for us every day in Wisconsin, and we need to support them and also thank them for the hard work,” said Rep. Kind.
Labor Fest wrapped up at about 3 in the afternoon.
