Hot mix asphalt leaks from tanker on I-94 near Black River Falls
Incident caused lane closure on EB I-94
JACKSON COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) — A hot mix asphalt leaked from the tanker of a semi-tractor trailer, causing a lane closure on I-94 near Black River Falls on Friday morning.
At about 5:30 a.m. the Wisconsin State Patrol was called to a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder of I-94 eastbound near Black River Falls.
The Black River Falls Fire Department and the La Crosse Area Hazmat team responded to the scene because a hot mix asphalt was leaking from the tanker. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is supervising the cleanup of the spilled material. The State Patrols said Mathy Construction helped off load remaining product on the tanker.
One lane was closed on eastbound I-94 for about a half-mile on I-94 between mile marker 116 and 117 near Black River Falls while the scene was cleaned up.
No one was injured in this incident.
