HomeBrew Competition pits local brewers against more than 100 beers from across the U.S.

135 home-brewed creations from across the country were put to the test on Saturday when City Brewery in La Crosse hosted the Between the Bluffs HomeBrew Competition.

Entries were compared by seven nationally certified beer judges in 15 style categories. The winners from each style then faced off to determine which brew was the Best in Show.

Members of The La Crosse Lagers Home Brew Club competed against each other, but the club’s president, Ryan Roesler, said the feedback helps make them all better brewers.

“We all have the same interests and desires, and so we find The La Crosse Lagers Home Brew Club a way of coming together and sharing our secrets about brewing,” said Roesler.

The winners of each category and the Best in Show beer will be announced on April 27 at the Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival at the Southside Fest Grounds.
