Home prices drop state-wide, increase in La Crosse
September saw highest home sales rates Nationwide for the year
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Home sales remained steady in Western Wisconsin in September.
The newest report from the Wisconsin Realtors Association says the same number of homes were sold in September this year as in 2013. The average price also dropped by two percent.
However in La Crosse County the average price went up by four and a half percent.
“Prices are going up slightly, which is a good thing. Number of sales, we’re catching up to last year, we’re still down a little bit, but I think it’s a good thing. Our inventory seems to be down a little bit, so I think it’s a good time to sell, with prices going up and inventory a little bit lower, a great time to be on the market,” said La Crosse Area Realtors Association President Kent Gabrielsen.
Nationwide home sales in September went at the fastest pace so far this year.
