Holmen School District to start year off virtually
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) – The School District of Holmen is just weeks away from the first day of classes, which is September 1st.
Like some other districts in our area, K-12 students will be starting the year virtually for at least the first 30 days.
Staff will be using the first week to reach out to students and families to introduce themselves, answer questions, and start building relationships; similar to the start of a traditional school year.
The district is giving every student a device to use and is in the process of making sure they all have access to the internet.
Creating hotspots, spaces for small groups of students in the schools, the local library, and the Boys and Girls Club are a few possibilities being considered.
Kids enrolled in 4-K and early childhood will be returning to the classroom, following daycare guidelines from the county.
