Holmen School District looking into funding for field after failed referendum
Third referendum question failed by 89 votes
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — A local high school is looking into how to raise money to improve its football field after a failed referendum.
Holmen High School is considering alternative fundraising efforts to benefit the school’s Empire Stadium.
A referendum asking for $300,000 to improve the field and expand the bleachers was denied by voters in last week’s Spring elections. District officials are currently looking into why the third referendum question failed.
The School Activities Director hopes discussion about field improvement continues.
“We had a conversation with possible donors going into this referendum. Those conversations will have to continue to see what people are thinking and what support there is, and that’s yet to be determined,” said Holmen School District Activities Director.
The referendum question failed by 89 votes.
