Holmen P.D. creates ‘safe zone’ for Craigslist transactions
Holmen, Wis. (WKBT) — The Holmen Police Department is creating a “safe zone” for anyone buying or selling something on Craigslist.
It will be at their police headquarters parking lot, where video cameras are watching.
The department’s police chief hopes the designated space will give people some peace of mind when arranging a meeting on Craigslist.
“You see a lot of different stories of different items that happen on Craigslist when people meet, whether it’s from an extreme case of homicide or somebody just trying to rip you off, ” said police chief Shane Collins.
Police say no matter where you arrange a Craigslist meeting, you should always be cautious and bring someone along with you.
