Holmen hosts 55th annual Kornfest parade
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — Holmen hosted the 55 th annual Kornfest parade Saturday morning.
The parade started at 11:00 a.m. and marched down Holmen’s Main Street.
This year’s parade marshal, Dan McHugh, was born and raised in Holmen and has been attending Kornfest since the early 1960s.
“The census in Holmen in 1960 was 584, and now they say it’s somewhere between [10,000] and 12,000. So, it’s changed, no question about it,” said McHugh.
McHugh said he’s honored to be awarded the position, and is “all about giving back to the community.” He says he and his family have helped with a number of community projects such a dining hall in Camp Decorah, some trails, and an upcoming community center.
