Holmen homicide trial delayed five months
31-year-old Bryce Anderson accused in 2015 murder of girlfriend
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The trial for a Holmen man accused of brutally murdering his girlfriend is being delayed.
31-year-old Bryce Anderson is charged with killing his girlfriend, Kristen Johnson, in March of 2015.
Police say Anderson wrapped a belt around her neck and repeatedly hit her in the head with a hammer before cutting her throat. Anderson admitted to the crime in a signed note before being arrested in Iowa.
Anderson’s trial was originally scheduled for October, but is now being delayed until March 2017 after he changed lawyers.
He faces life in prison if convicted.
