Holmen firefighters take donations for “Fill the Boot” campaign for muscular dystrophy
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — Some Holmen residents were throwing their spare change into a boot for a good cause!
The Holmen Fire Department is hosting its second annual ‘Fill the Boot’ campaign. Ten firefighters were out in the Holmen community Wednesday, accepting donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The crews were split between the Holmen Festival Foods and Features Sports Bar and Grill locations.
“Firefighters and the IAFF both have teamed up with MDA for, it’s been a long history of it, just to help raise money for MD. There’s several families in our area that get helped by that,” said Holmen Fire Department Captain Frank Garrow.
The donation drive is over, but the Holmen Fire Department urges anyone willing to give to head to the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s website.
