Holmen educator to become principal of North Woods in La Crosse

Students at North Woods International School enjoyed a very special guest today, an award-winning children's book author and illustrator Patricia Polacco.

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Longtime Holmen educator Keri Holter has been hired as principal of North Woods International School in La Crosse.
Keri HolterHolter, who has been associate principal at Holmen Middle School since 2008, also taught for nine years at Ventures Charter School in Holmen.
“My educational philosophy is solidly grounded in the belief in our kids and that every student can learn at high levels,” Holter said.
“Being the first person in my family to graduate from college, I understand the promise that education holds. I want every student to be equipped to pursue the kind of career that can bring them joy as well as provide for their family.”
Holter has more than over 21 years of experience in education, including 12 as an administrator. She also taught at Badger High School in the Badger Union School District in Lake Geneva, Wis.
“Keri is an excellent instructional leader and a strong student advocate,” said La Crosse Superintendent Randy Nelson.
Holter is a 1999 graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Stout with a B.S. degree in marketing education. She earned her master’s degree in educational leadership from Cardinal Stritch University of Virginia in 2008.
