Holiday Packages for Western Technical College students
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Western Technical College is making sure that students don’t go hungry over winter break through holiday meal packages for those who are eligible.
The food is available through the Cavalier Cupboard food pantry on campus.
Packages include ingredients to make a special meal during the holiday season, and a gift card to buy whatever the student would like.
The Cavalier Cupboard currently has about 100 packages and plan to give every single meal away.
“Just in November alone we served 289% more students than last November. The word is getting out there students are starting to catch on that we’re here for them,” said Kari Reyburn, the Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Engagement at Western Tech.
The Cavalier Cupboard, which began in 2014, has served over 2,000 students and their families.
Western’s Fall trimester wraps up Saturday.
