La Crosse holiday brunch raises money for veteran mentor program

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Sunday, members of the La Crosse Community are getting into the holiday spirit by helping veterans with the Jingle Bell Brunch. Families gathered at the Waterfront for musical entertainment, a children’s parade, and even a visit from Santa.

Military families ate for free thanks to community sponsors. This Jingle Bell Brunch is also a fundraiser with the proceeds of the event going to the La Crosse Area Veteran Mentor Program.

“They assign a mentor to every vet that goes to them to help them maneuver through things that may be difficult for someone without somebody in the know. So we’re really excited,” said Jingle Bell Brunch Co-chair, Kim Lenth.

The La Crosse Area Veteran Mentor program provides peer-to-peer mentoring for veterans. The program also helps area veterans transition back into civilian life.
