High schoolers compete to be the best CEO in La Crosse area Business Challenge

Dozens of local high schoolers competed Wednesday to be the best CEO.

17 teams of area high school students showed off their leadership skills in Wednesday morning’s Junior Achievement Business Challenge. Each team paired up with local businesses to test their knowledge using a business simulation program.

Students made executive decisions on prices, production, marketing, capital investment, and research and development.

“Junior Achievement is out working in the schools, we’re teaching business concepts. They have an opportunity to work with us. // So yeah, we’re kicking out some kids that udnerstand business. It’s awesome,” said Coulee Region Junior Achievement Program Manager Kim Granum.

First, second, and third place winners were awarded scholarships. The top teams will also move on to the Wisconsin J.A. Business Challenge on May 3.
