‘High Heels’ build team raises more than $2,500 for Winona Habitat House

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) — A build team for Habitat for Humanity serving Winona County raised more than $2,500  for a Winona home project.

The “High Heels, Hard Hats, and Homes” build team raised the money at a May 20 event. That money goes toward Habitat House #54 in Winona, which is currently under construction on Winona’s east end.

The “High Heels” group is just one build team taking part in Habitat for Humanity’s mission. Teams consist of 8 to 10 individuals who may be coworkers, friends, club members, friends, family, or neighbors.

Once a build team’s fundraising goal is reached, each team gets its own day on the home construction site. Habitat staff works hand in hand with volunteers — no previous experience is needed.
