High heat leading to pavement buckling problems in La Crescent, around area

LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) – With extreme heat, pavement buckling can happen.

Minnesota DOT crews were busy Wednesday morning fixing a spot on Hwy. 61 between La Crescent and La Crosse.

Buckling happens when pavement slabs push against each other with pressure so great that they can push up, creating a potentially dangerous situation.
