Hiawatha Valley Mental Health working towards new facility
Winona, Minn. (WKBT) — A local organization is growing to meet demand.
Hiawatha Valley Mental Health of Winona started construction on a new facility.
The organization found a need for more space to provide mental health services.
Currently split between two buildings, the new facility will increase their space by 60 percent.
More than 1,800 patients have been seen by the center through March this year.
“Well with the expanding need of mental health issues, funds are always greatly appreciated, because as I said the need is greater than the supply,” said Laurence Connery, President of the Board of Hiawatha Valley Mental Health.
Donations are being accepted at hvmhc.org.
The project is expected to be completed in April 2019.
