Herons of La Crosse statues return to downtown
La Crosse, Wis. (WKBT) —
If you have been looking up to the sky for flocks of spring birds in La Crosse, you may want to look closer to the ground.
The Herons of La Crosse statues were placed in downtown La Crosse, a decade after the flock first appeared in the city.
The 22 sculptures are placed in Main Street Plaza, the walkway connecting downtown La Crosse and Riverside Park.
Organizers say it’s a great opportunity to celebrate artists and our community.
“This project especially drew artists, business and the community together because it did involve so many different artists…and many different businesses,” said Toni Asher, Executive Director of The Pump House.
The Herons will be on display in La Crosse until September.
