Heavy traffic expected for move-in of new, returning UW-La Crosse students
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Heavy traffic is expected around the UW-La Crosse campus as thousands of college students are getting set for the fall semester.
New students are schedule to move into dorm halls later this week.
Police in La Crosse say the roads around the UWL campus will see increased traffic during the move-in days.
Most new students will move into one of ten campus dorms on August 30th or 31st.
Returning students can move in from Friday, through next Monday.
The time is exciting for families, but that will make things busy around campus in a short period.
“During that time frame, it does get pretty congested out here, so just as the driving public needs to be aware that there could be some changes in our traffic patterns, certainly we will an increase in the amount of traffic out here and maybe just best to avoid the area all together,” said La Crosse Police Sergeant Tom Walsh.
The fall semester starts for UW-La Crosse next Tuesday.
