Heavy rain forces change to dairy breakfast parking
People attending La Crosse County Dairy Breakfast asked to park at St. Joseph's Equipment
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — It’s a chance to enjoy a nice breakfast while learning how the food you eat ends up on your plate. The annual La Crosse County Dairy Breakfast kicks off Saturday morning in La Crosse.
People at the annual event can fill up on a hearty breakfast while getting a behind-the-scenes look at a local dairy farm.
All of the rain in the past week has forced a last-minute change, however.
Instead of parking at the host farm, people attending the breakfast are being asked to park at St. Joseph’s Equipment on St. Joe’s Ridge Road in La Crosse, just off of Highway 33. Buses will then shuttle event-goers to the farm, which is about three miles away.
“It rained about 4 hours steady up on the farm here last night,” said La Crosse County Dairy Breakfast Chairperson Deb Schwarz. “The fields are pretty wet, and just for safety reasons, we opted to bus people instead of having them come here and get stuck in the fields.”
Four buses will be running all morning from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Admission for the breakfast is $5.
