Healthy food options for the big game

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) The Super Bowl is only a day away, which means fans are stocking up on game day snacks.

Health experts say the Super Bowl is one of the largest days of food consumption.

Which is why they recommend some health tips.

Be mindful of how much you’re eating.

When making homemade dips, try using low-fat Greek yogurt or low-fat sour cream, and substitute the chips for vegetables.

If you plan on frying foods, try an air fryer, or bake them instead.

However, one health expert says don’t stress too much over it.

“The super bowl comes around once a year, so I think to expect we’re going to eat perfectly during the super bowl is not realistic,” said Jamie Pronschinske, a Registered Dietitian at Mayo Clinic Health System.

The National Chicken Council predicts Americans will eat more than a billion wings this weekend.
