Habitat for Humanity looking for partner families
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area is looking for three local families to begin the journey into homeownership.
The group is accepting applications for the Habitat Homeownership Program.
To qualify for the partnership program, applicants must be low-income according to household size, be willing to partner with Habitat in helping build their home and have a housing need.
“We see a lot of need for safe and affordable housing in our community,” said Habitat’s Executive Director, Kahya Fox. “Many families struggle with overcrowding, dangerous living situations, unhealthy conditions, and rent payments that take a burdensome amount of a family’s monthly income.”
Habitat is looking for three families for homes they have planned for this year, including two major renovations in La Crosse and a new construction home in Arcadia. As part of the partnership with Habitat, future homeowner complete at least 350 hours helping at the building site, at the Habitat ReStore, in the Habitat office, on fundraisers or on other approved community activities.
For more information or to download the application packet, go to www.habitatlacrosse.org or contact Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area to request an application (firstname.lastname@example.org or 608-785-2373, extension 104). Completed applications must be returned by June 8th.
