Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area searching for 5 new homeowners

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area has five new construction projects looking for families to fill them.

The organization is now accepting applications for the new home projects.

Applicants will be selected based on three areas of criteria: the ability to afford homeownership, the need for safe and affordable housing, and the willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity.

Houses will be sold for the full appraised value upon completion and owners will be provided a mortgage with zero percent interest.

“So we always get way more applications than we have homes available,” said Kahya Fox, executive director for Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area. “I think that kind of tells you the importance of the mission at Habitat and the need for safe and affordable housing in our area.”

Locations of the homes range from La Crosse, West Salem, Tomah, and in Eitzen, Minnesota.
