Snap Fitness: Don't burn yourself out, be patient

The new year is finally here, meaning people are trying to stick to their New Years resolutions.

And for many that means heading to the gym. But before knocking out any reps on the weight bench there are some things to remember.

First, make sure your learn the equipment to keep from injuring yourself after using the machine incorrectly.

Also have a plan and know what machines you’re going to use. During busy times, hopping from one machine to another with out a plan can create problems for other people’s work out.

And lastly, if you haven’t worked out in awhile, be patient so your don’t burn yourself out to quickly.

“Don’t come in hot working out two hours a day five days a week and then drastically alter your diet to go along with it. You’ll find yourself with a lack of energy, the opposite of what the affects of exercise should be,” said Snap Fitness Personal Trainer Harrison Pollack.

Once you are done remember to always wipe down your machine after using it to keep from spreading germs.
