Gundersen residents help Hamilton Elementary students explore health care careers in La Crosse

The lessons were part of the Wisconsin Science Festival

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Students in La Crosse are receiving special lessons, thanks to staff from a local health system.

Gundersen Health System family medicine residents visited Hamilton Elementary to teach students about things like x-rays and or how injections work.

Even if the the students don’t want a job in health care, the residents say there is plenty to learn.

“We’re talking about healthy nutrition, moving your bodies. So I think that’s another important message,” said Dr. Robyn Borge, Gundersen’s chief of medical staff.

The lessons were part of the Wisconsin Science Festival.
