Gundersen Health System offers training during Trauma Symposium
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Gundersen Health System offered hands-on practice to 70 area health care workers during its trauma symposium on Friday.
This event allows workers, both inside and outside trauma departments, to brush up on skills and learn new techniques for situations they might encounter.
Educators set up skill stations with dummies, pig organs, and cadavers.
“It gives them a sense of what could be done and what may need to be done, or if they want to progress their career over time, different avenues to see different skills,” said Dr. Mason Fisher, the Trauma Medical Director and a trauma surgeon for Gundersen.
A crew from Fort McCoy also attended and set up a trauma simulation.
