Gundersen Health System looking for a dozen Wisconsin students

Students to take part in year-long internships

A dozen students in our area will spend a year learning and training at Gundersen Health System.

The health system is searching for twelve high school students between the ages of 18 and 21 with developmental and intellectual disabilities to take part in employment-related education.

Gundersen’s ‘Project Search’ teaches the selected Wisconsin students about various areas of the hospital campus through class time, internships and skill trainers. Event organizers say it is a program that benefits everyone involved.

“We see this as enriching our folks, as enriching our community , our patients, our families. It’s about all of us learning together,” said Gundersen Health System H.R. Consultant Ann Wales.

If you would like to learn more Gundersen is hosting an open house Monday at the La Crosse campus’ Integrated Center for Education. The event runs from 6:15 p.m. through 8 p.m..
