Gundersen Health System announces potential affiliation with Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Gundersen Health System is considering a regional affiliation with Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Wabasha Minnesota.
The medical center announced the potential partnership late Friday.
The two medical centers have already been working together for the past two years with some outreach services, but this will offer even more benefits for patients.
One of them is ease of access to electronic medical records.
They will be shared between the two medical centers, which saves time and money for patients.
It also has the potential to stabilize rural healthcare.
“Saint Elizabeth’s, because they will be able to take advantage of a lot of services we offer here in La Crosse, will be able to expand its care closer to home,” said Marilu Bintz, MD/Chief Medical Officer of Gundersen Affiliated Hospitals and Clinics.
The centers will continue working on the potential affiliation throughout 2020.
