Gundersen breaks ground on new resident housing
New resident housing connects Gundersen more to nearby community
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — An area health system is breaking ground on a new project while helping to continue revitalizing a La Crosse neighborhood.
Gundersen Health System celebrated the start of construction on a new medical resident housing development in the Powell Poage Hamilton neighborhood.
The housing is at the corner of 8th and Tyler Streets on La Crosse’s south side.
“Being this close to the hospital lets us easily take calls, respond to issues at the hospital and still maintain some sense of family and community nearby,” says Dr. Nick Czosnyka who is a resident at Gundersen.
The new duplexes should be completed sometime this winter before the next wave of medical residents arrive in the spring.
