Gubernatorial candidate hosts town hall meeting with UW- La Crosse students
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — One of the seventeen democratic candidates for governor is talking to college students to at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse Thursday.
Andy Gronik, a business man from Fox Point, announced his campaign in July. He’s looking to replace current Governor Scott Walker, who warned of a ‘blue wave’ after a democratic-backed candidate won the state supreme court race Tuesday.
Gronik plans on talking about issues facing students, including budget cuts to state universities.
“There was a tuition freeze, but no real plan to replace that revenue, so that you can actually provide the kind of education that we’ve always provided the state of Wisconsin. Well, I think we’ve finally hit the straw that broke the camels back and we’re seeing the results of a failed policy,” said Gronik.
The talk will be live streamed on Gronik’s Facebook page starting at 6 PM.
