GROW La Crosse holds weekly “open gardens” for kids, families
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A summer program is letting kids get their hands dirty… as part of their learning.
GROW La Crosse is hosting open garden events at local school gardens Tuesday evenings (4:30-6:30 pm) and Thursday mornings (8:30-10:30 am).
It’s an opportunity the whole family can do together.
“Families can buy ‘Garden Passports’ that they can bring to the gardens each time they visit. They get stamps for each visit, so throughout the summer when they’re doing those open gardens, those experiences, it’s going to lead up to an event in the fall,” said GROW’s new executive director, Kari Bersagel-Braley.
The September 10th event is called the “Great GROW Get Together,” celebrating gardening and raising money for GROW’s school programs.
Garden Passports cost $10.
