Group for climate change advocacy gather outside city hall

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A group passionate about climate change gathered to raise awareness outside of La Crosse’s City Hall before marching to Riverside Park.  The group, called Extinction Rebellion, advocates for climate and ecological health, as well as the protection of biodiversity.  They are calling for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025 nationally and 2030 globally.

“Educate themselves, from scientists in the group, and specialists, and come together to make decisions to create positive change,” said Myra Janksy, an extinction rebellion mobilizer.

The group planted a tree in Riverside Park following their demonstration.
