Groundbreaking ceremony held for Fairfield Inn & Suites in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday morning for the Fairfield Inn and Suites in La Crosse at the base of the Cass Street Bridge on Third Street, the previous location of the Habitat ReStore.
The 92-room four-story will add 350 new rooms to the city. This is one of four hotels going up in the next few years.
La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat said with all new developments coming in, the rooms are needed.
“I have no doubts at all that business people are local investors and the franchises have studied this and have looked at what it’s going to take and feel very confident that these projects are all going to be very successful and complimentary,” Mayor Kabat said.
Right now, La Crosse has around 1,300 hotel room rooms.
