Green Bay man will face trial in child’s death
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Green Bay man has been ordered to stand trial on charges of killing his girlfriend’s young daughter.
Twenty-nine-year-old Daniel Vega is facing charges of reckless homicide and child abuse in the death of the 13-month-old girl last August. Police say Vega caused head injuries that resulted in the child’s death. She was found unresponsive in her bed in an apartment on Green Bay’s west side. Vega was arrested in Arizona in September.
WLUK-TV says a Brown County judge decided Wednesday that there was enough evidence to send Vega to trial. He’s due back in court to enter a plea to the charges Feb. 21.
