Green Bay man drowns in Redgranite Quarry
REDGRANITE, Wis. — Authorities say a 49-year-old Green Bay man has drowned in the Redgranite Quarry.
A statement from the Redgranite Police Department on Thursday identified him as Daniel R. Whitemore.
Rescue crews were called to the quarry just before 6 p.m. Wednesday. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Police say alcohol appears to be a factor in this case.
An Appleton woman drowned in the same quarry in June. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources describes the quarry as a six-acre lake that’s up to 163 feet deep.
