Great River United Way launches annual fundraising campaign in La Crosse

Aiming to raise $2 million

The annual fundraising campaign for a nonprofit that benefits other local nonprofits began Tuesday.

The Great River United Way launched its annual campaign with a Kick-Off Breakfast Tuesday morning, celebrating the efforts of pacesetter donors. This year’s campaign chairperson says the yearly fundraising effort is important for both local nonprofits and those they serve.

“111,000 times last year our agency’s impacted people, so it’s imperative that we raise the 2 plus million dollars that we’ve raised in the past. We just have to do it so that our agencies are able to continue operating the way they need to,” said Great River United Way 2018 Campaign Chairperson Mike Klauke.

The Pacesetter Companies contribute about 45-percent of the funds raised each year through the United Way campaign. This year’s campaign is looking to raise about $2 million by the end of January.
