Grandad Bluff Trail Project opens first section on top of bluff
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The first section of the Grandad Bluff Trail Project is now open.
ORA Trails and The City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department announced the opening Friday, July 31. The trail is located at the top of Grandad Bluff, off both sides of Grandad Bluff Road, and includes a shared-use section for hikers and mountain bikers as well as a hike only section.
The remaining sections of the Grandad Bluff Project will open in September or October 2020.
According to ORA project manager Jed Olson, “The public has shown fantastic support for what they have been able to see of the newly built trails. This first section opening will provide them with a ‘boots and bikes’ on the ground experience and thus far the comments have been outstanding.” Because the trails are new, ORA Trails asks you to take extra care to make certain the trails are dry before hiking or biking.
