Governor Walker talks about benefits of Child Tax Rebate during stop in Onalaska
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is out promoting the state’s child tax rebate…
The governor stopped by Blain’s Farm and Fleet in Onalaska Thursday afternoon to talk about how the rebate can help families. Parents can apply for the $100 per child rebate through July 2 at ChildTaxRebate.WI.gov.
During the stop, Governor Walker also mentioned ways the state is helping to relieve some of the financial pressures on college students.
“We’re going to need to continue to keep tuition reasonable going forward, so we want to continue to keep it from going up. Secondly, we worked with financial institutions already to try and help graduates do more to help refinance their debt at more reasonable rates than what they’ve got,” said Walker.
Along with the Child Tax Rebate, Wisconsin is holding a state sales tax holiday for back to school supplies from August 1 through August 5.
